Careers · Founding team

Help us build the fair way to say yes to more renters.

StabilityLogic is building the enterprise decision infrastructure the rental market has never had. We're assembling our founding team now — a small group of engineers, researchers, designers, and operators who want to work at the intersection of applied AI, fair housing, and enterprise-grade product.

Mission

Fairer, defensible housing decisions.

Credit scores were designed to predict how someone manages debt. That is a different question from whether a household will pay rent reliably. When housing decisions ride on the wrong question, qualified renters get filtered out and housing providers absorb avoidable risk.

StabilityLogic exists to replace credit-only screening with verified behavior — a fair, explainable, audit-ready alternative that scores payment history first, rewards recovery after documented hardship, and never treats housing type as a penalty. That is the product. That is the mission. Every hire ladders back to it.

Culture

How we work.

We're a small team building enterprise software with unusually high stakes on the other end of every score. That shapes how we run.

Small team. Wide surface.

Everyone touches product, everyone talks to customers, and everyone owns something that ends up in front of a procurement reviewer or an applicant.

Writing is the artifact.

Decisions live in written docs — architecture reviews, methodology memos, incident post-mortems, and Statements of Work. Meetings are for pressure-testing, not deciding.

Ship weekly. Review honestly.

We cut releases weekly and hold a written internal review of what shipped, what regressed, and what we deferred. No spin, no sandbagging.

Async by default.

Two focused sync blocks per week; the rest is async. We hire for people who write clearly and read carefully.

Customer proximity.

Every full-time team member is in a pilot working session at least once per month. No exceptions for engineering, design, or research.

Trust is table stakes.

We handle sensitive applicant data. Handling it responsibly is not a policy — it is a personal standard we hire and fire on.

Values

What we hold ourselves to.

Defensible by default

Every decision our platform produces should be reproducible weeks or years later. We build for the audit before we build for the demo.

Fair-housing first

Housing type is never a penalty. Recovery is rewarded. Protected-class variables never enter the model. This is a hard product constraint — not a marketing line.

Explainable over impressive

A model we can explain beats a model we can only benchmark. Every scoring input surfaces on every decision — for the applicant, the operator, and the auditor.

Institutional posture, startup pace

We ship at startup speed, but every artifact we hand a customer — DPA, SOW, model card, incident review — is written to institutional standards.

Respect the applicant

The renter on the other side of every score is a human being making one of the highest-stakes decisions of their year. That shows up in our copy, our consent flows, and our escalations.

Human authority preserved

AI recommends. People decide. We do not ship autonomous adverse action, and we do not build tools that turn operators into rubber stamps.

Future roles

The founding team.

These are the roles we are actively planning for. None of them are open with a start date or a compensation range today — every listing below feeds a talent pipeline that we will draw from when the role formally opens. Reach out and we will keep you in the loop.

Engineering

AI Engineer

Own the HSI scoring engine, model-card discipline, and the explainability layer that turns model outputs into reason codes on every decision. Comfortable operating under the constraint that every score has to be defensible under FCRA and fair-housing scrutiny.

Signals we look for
  • Production ML/LLM experience — training, evaluation, deployment
  • Comfort with model governance, versioning, and audit trails
  • Deep interest in interpretable ML over black-box performance
Future openingExpress interest
Applied research

Data Scientist

Design the behavioral variables, backtests, and fairness measurements that make HSI defensible at portfolio scale. Partner with pilot customers to run counterfactual analyses on their historical applicant data.

Signals we look for
  • Statistical rigor — regression, calibration, subgroup analysis
  • Working knowledge of housing, credit, or consumer-finance data
  • Can write a methodology memo procurement will actually read

Fair housing · compliance

Policy Analyst

Own the policy surface — Fair Housing Act, ECOA, FCRA, state and municipal statutes, and the emerging AI-in-housing regulatory landscape. Translate policy constraints into product requirements and defensible documentation.

Signals we look for
  • Fair-housing, consumer-finance, or civil-rights policy background
  • Comfort reading rulemaking, comment letters, and enforcement actions
  • Can bridge policy language and engineering language fluently

Revenue

Enterprise Account Executive

Land and expand relationships with institutional operators, REITs, PropTech platforms, and housing agencies. Run a consultative sales process anchored in scoped pilots and Statements of Work — not seat-based upsell.

Signals we look for
  • Enterprise SaaS or PropTech quota-carrying track record
  • Sold to Chief Operating / Innovation / Compliance stakeholders
  • Fluent in procurement, legal, and vendor-risk workflows
Future openingExpress interest
Post-sale

Customer Success

Own enterprise pilot delivery from kickoff to expansion — success plan, weekly working sessions, executive briefings, and expansion readiness. Own the health of every named pilot account.

Signals we look for
  • Enterprise CS or Implementation experience in a technical product
  • Comfortable running a weekly executive success cadence
  • Bias toward instrumented outcomes over reactive support

Design

Product Designer

Design the operator workspace, applicant portal, and decision-panel surfaces. The bar is Stripe / Linear / Vanta — enterprise density with the readability of a consumer product.

Signals we look for
  • Portfolio shows enterprise, data-heavy, or compliance UX
  • Strong opinion on typography, information density, and motion
  • Ships in code (Tailwind, shadcn/ui) or partners tightly with engineers who do

Remote-first philosophy

Work where you do your best deep work.

StabilityLogic is remote-first by design. Our headquarters is in Sacramento, California, but the team is distributed and we hire for craft and outcome — not for zip code. We optimize for async written communication, short overlapping working windows, and periodic in-person offsites where the depth of collaboration justifies the travel.

  • Anchor overlap: at least four hours of overlap with Pacific Time working hours (typically 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM PT).
  • Two focused sync blocks per week; the rest of the calendar is protected for deep work.
  • Quarterly in-person team offsites — travel and accommodations covered.
  • Home-office stipend on day one; laptop, monitor, and ergonomic setup on us.
  • Every full-time role is available to any U.S. state where we are set up to employ. International contractors considered case-by-case for specific roles.
Equal Opportunity Employer

Every applicant. Every hire. Same standard.

StabilityLogic LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We evaluate every applicant on the merits of the role and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, pregnancy, familial status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.

We build software that is scrutinized for fairness on behalf of housing applicants. Hiring is the first surface where those values have to hold. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in our hiring process, contact aqueelah@stabilitylogic.com and we will work with you on next steps.

Don't see your exact role?

We'd still love to hear from you.
